Description
Watch the Sunrise from the Summit of Snowdon
Experience one of the most unforgettable mountain adventures in Eryri on our Snowdon Sunrise Guided Hike. We’ll climb Snowdon via the famous Llanberis Path and aim to reach the summit in time to watch the sun rise over the mountains of North Wales.
Starting in the darkness, we’ll make our way steadily up the Llanberis Path. As dawn approaches, the landscape will begin to change around us. The first light will slowly appear across Eryri, creating a truly magical mountain experience.
Reaching the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) for sunrise is an incredible achievement. At 1,085 metres, Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and one of the UK’s most iconic peaks.
But the adventure doesn’t have to finish at the summit.
From Snowdon to Y Lliwedd
If the weather forecast and mountain conditions are in our favour, we’ll continue our adventure towards the spectacular summit of Y Lliwedd.
This section takes us away from the main Snowdon crowds and onto more rugged mountain terrain. We’ll make our way across the dramatic landscape before reaching the rocky summit of Y Lliwedd.
The final ascent includes an easy scramble, giving the day an exciting change of pace. You’ll use your hands in places as we negotiate the rocky terrain and make our way towards the summit.
Y Lliwedd offers spectacular views back towards Snowdon and across the surrounding mountains of Eryri. It’s a fantastic way to extend the adventure and experience a quieter side of the Snowdon range.
However, safety always comes first. If the weather or conditions aren’t suitable, we’ll take an alternative route rather than attempt Y Lliwedd. Your guide will make the final decision based on the conditions on the day.
A Stunning Point to Point Mountain Adventure
After completing Y Lliwedd, we’ll continue towards Pen y Pass, where we’ll finish our mountain adventure.
From here, we’ll catch the bus back to Llanberis, giving you a relaxing end to an incredible day in the mountains.
The full route is approximately 16km, with around 1,200 metres of ascent. It’s a challenging day, but the combination of sunrise, mountain scenery and optional scrambling makes this a truly memorable adventure.
